And the winner for the most entertaining feline comedy duo - Nacho and Cheese! This pair of 1-year-old brothers came to us with upper respiratory infections, but after a round of antibiotics, they have been cleared for adoption. Nacho and Cheese are full of funny energy and are known to be mini purring machines. They love toys, people, and each other! Nacho (has a bit more white on his face) is extremely playful, and he will swoosh around the room chasing whatever toy you throw. Cheese is not a fan of being held and is a bit timid upon first meeting, but give him some time, and his furry tail will wag and wave all over the joint. They would do fine in a home with other respectful animals. Nacho and Cheese would love to take their award-winning cat-act into your home and hearts!

A special note about our boy Nacho: Nacho has Asthma, which he will have his entire life. He will require some training to get comfortable with his inhaler mask. He has responded very well to it! Feline Asthma is caused by an inhaled allergen or irritants like dust, smoke, fragrances, and aerosol sprays; because of this, he does require special respiratory relief litter. His new home and family will need to ensure that they take the necessary steps to reduce those potential irritants. It may seem like a lot, but Nacho is so worth it and will reward you with lots of love and will entertain you with silly antics with his brother all day.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.

Our adoption process includes the following:

1. Adoption Application
To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application:
- Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/
- Email a copy to scruffypawsanimalrescue@gmail.com
- Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield)
- Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886

2. Veterinary Reference
Please call your vet ahead of time to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team.

3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval
If renting, the landlord's contact information must be provided so our adoption team can seek approval.

4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice
