Meet Mushu

Mushu is a two-year-old cat who was brought to us because his family was moving and could not take him along. We were told that he gets along with other cats and that he can be “skittish at first but is very friendly once he warms up.” Mushu seemed withdrawn and unhappy when he first arrived but I think that was probably because he was in pain. He had bad teeth so we took him in for a dental where thirteen of his teeth were pulled. Now that he is feeling better he seems happier and more alert. He has become a huge favorite with our staff and volunteers. What his previous family said about him is true. He needs to get to know you before he will really warm up and show his loving side. Mushu is opening up more each day with our staff, even showing his silly side, and he loves to sit in his cage watching out the window. He likes it when our staff pets him and will even purr. With strangers he is still very shy but we now know that the cure for that is time. He just needs someone who will give him the time he needs to settle in. He is worth the wait. Mushu still struggles when you pick him up but once in your arms you can feel him relax. He was very friendly in his previous home and will be again. We are looking for a quiet home for Mushu with a patient person who will give him the time he needs to settle in. If you take him home we would recommend keeping him in a small area at first, like a spare bathroom, so you can easily go in and spend time with him. Mushu is just going through a rough patch right now and needs to rebuild his confidence. With a little time, he will be the love of some lucky person’s life. We think he has had kind of a rough life so far and are hoping someone will step up and turn his life around. Think how rewarding it would be to help Mushu reach his full potential. Doesn’t he deserve a chance? His adoption fee has been fully sponsored and will be waived with an approved application.

If you are interested in adopting this cat, please go to our website (cchswi.org) where you can fill out an application online. A staff member will be in touch with you to explain the next steps for adoption.
