Meet Mr. Peabody

The first thing you'll notice about MR. PEABODY is his passion for life. He's estimated to be about 11 years old, but you'd never know it from the way he chases after toys and wrestles with his scratching post. Every day when you come home, Mr Peabody will greet you at the door telling you about his day with meows and chirps, drawing you into the fun with his toys and games of tag. He LOVES to hang out with his favorite people, lying next to you while he enjoys all the pets and attention he can get. He's a gentle companion who spent hours on his foster mom's bed comforting her when she had the flu. He will follow you from room to room chirping for attention, and adores being brushed. Another thing Mr. Peabody adores is eating, and he makes sure to remind everybody when it's mealtime. This also makes it very easy to treat him for his hyperthyroidism, because he loves his pill wrapped in a pill pocket - nothing makes Mr. Peabody happier than a good kitty treat, and he'll eat them out of your hand, then thank you for your kindness with kisses.

Mr. Peabody has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), but he is a healthy kitty and will likely have a normal lifespan as an indoor-only cat. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. He would be happiest as an only kitty, although he might adjust to another friendly, mellow cat. He was brought to a local vet when his owner could no longer take care of him, and went to live in a loving foster home. Mr. Peabody is now ready to be loved and spoiled in his own stable, forever home. Could it be with you?

Mr. Peabody is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, is negative for FeLV, and has had a complete dental. To meet Mr. Peabody in person, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 2-3 days for a possible meet and greet. The $70 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. ID#1912-C0582
