Harrison and Moya: About 4 years old as of April 2021.

Moya and her brother, Harrison, were born as strays in Waverly, Iowa. We trapped them August 9th, 2017, with full intentions of getting them vetted and putting them on a farm. But they were not as wild as we thought they would be. So with a little TLC and time, they have tamed up nicely in 3 months. Moya is up to date on shots, spayed, and tested negative for FeLV / FIV. She is living in a foster home.

Moya was about 4 months old when she was trapped 8/9/17. She is all black. Someone in the neighborhood must have been feeding her family and holding these kittens. They were a little scared but not ferocious or hissy. Their foster mom wrapped her in a blanket each day for loving and petting. It didn't take long for her to purr and be happy. She is a sweetheart now. Loves to be held and to snuggle. Purrs all the time. She is maybe a little more timid and laid back than other kittens, but truly she is doing well for a stray kitten. Would be best in a home with older children. She has not been around dogs. She does well with other cats. She will need to be started off in one room alone when adopted. She will probably be scared and hide at first. It will be less stressful for her to only start off in one room. Would love to see her adopted in to the same home with her brother, Harrison.

11/25/17 UPDATE: Harrison and Moya are about 7-months-old now. They are very sweet and loving once they get to know you. They are also very bonded to each other and it is required they get adopted into the same home. Harrison and Moya love to be petted. They also love to play and it is fun to get a feather wand out and wave it around. I bet it would only take a week or two for them to settle in to a new home.

5/7/20 UPDATE: Harrison and Moya have grown to be wonderful cats! They are about 3 years old now. They both are shy until they get to know you. Can be skittish at times and will hide. But with time, they will bond with you and seek you out for attention. They are quiet cats, rarely meow. They enjoy playing. They like to cuddle and spend time with each other. They are not fans of being held. But do enjoy sitting by you and getting attention. They have a very sweet and gentle personality. They get along well with every other foster cat they have ever met.

Will someone please adopt Moya & Harrison and give them a forever home? $95.00 each adoption fee for a total of $190 for both cats.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
