Meet Mouse

FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60625
COLOR/BREED: Gray and White Shorthair

Mouse was surrendered directly to Lulu’s Locker. His owner had too many pets and needed help rehoming some of them. They allowed Mouse inside when he showed up at their door at the beginning of winter.

Bad boys bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Mouse is a friendly, clever boy with a bit of a naughty streak. His foster home keeps the kitty fosters in a dedicated “foster room” and Mouse will sneak past them and bolt out the door any chance he is given. He also may be responsible for a few crashes and items knocked off the shelf, but he maintains his innocence and challenges you to prove it. Mouse is very friendly, but in an independent way. When he first arrived at his foster home he found a spot on the cat tree and spent a day or two just taking in his new surroundings. After gathering intel about his new situation he started running to greet his foster at the door. He loves to rub up against your legs and stand on his back legs to say hi, but he doesn’t seem to be much of a lap cat and would prefer not to be carried around - but he’s a good boy who tolerates it when it is necessary. Mouse likes to always be around you, but not in your business.

Mouse LOVES toys that he can play with by himself. Balls, anything with feathers, small stuffed toys, broken pieces of plastic - they’re all a good time. Mouse also loves to hide behind the curtains and then burst out full speed. He loves to rough house with another young male cat who was surrendered at the same time as him. It’s a full contact sport, so older cats past their playing years might find him intolerably annoying.

Mouse’s previous home had children, other cats, and dogs so we think he would do well in homes with any/all of them, but because he does have an independent streak he might do best in a home where the children and dogs won’t constantly overwhelm or bother him. Although he’s pretty gentle, he does like to play with your feet and legs and the occasional claw gets in the way, so young children might not find him that much fun.
