Meet Morton est dob 05/17/21 — a beautiful orange tabby with the most endearingly mixed signals you’ll ever experience. He’s a cat who wants so badly to be your friend, but sometimes his emotions get the better of him. He’ll greet you with a little hiss, like he’s unsure of your intentions, and then a few moments later, he’s flopping onto his belly, inviting you to pet him like nothing ever happened.

Morton is a genuinely sweet guy who’s just still figuring things out. He shadows his favourite humans around the house, quietly watching and learning, slowly building trust in his own cautious way. There’s something incredibly rewarding about earning that trust — watching him open up is like watching the sun come out after a storm.

One thing that helps Morton immensely is the company of other cats. When there are feline friends around, he blossoms. He follows their lead, plays more, and settles into his surroundings much more quickly. A home with at least one other confident, kind cat would do wonders for him.

Morton has a gentle heart and a little extra personality to go with it. If you’re patient and willing to let him come around on his own terms, he’ll show you just how loving and loyal he can be. He’s a soft boy with a dramatic streak, and we promise — he’s absolutely worth it.
