Are you interested in giving a second chance at life to a sweet, loving senior kitty? This is Mora, and she is a purr machine that adores pets and lounging on comfy beds and window perches. She is a very low key cat and has impeccable manners, Mora does not make a mess anywhere in the home and will leave your furniture alone; providing she has a few cardboard scratchers available, they are her favourite!
Mora came to us through a plea for help when her human mother was diagnosed with cancer and placed into hospice care, she sadly passed two days after their rescue. It has been a stressful time for this beautiful soul. Prior to coming into foster care, her home was vacant for two weeks and invaded by humans. It was destroyed, robbed and used as a hangout spot for illicit behaviour. Feces covered the kitchen floor, because there was no clean litter box in sight, cigarette butts were everywhere along with empty bottles of liquor, beer cans and syringes. It was a very dangerous place for any animal to be found in and at the age of 10 years this poor girl should never have had to been subjected to this. When she was finally safe (smelling strongly of cigarette smoke) we were able to get her into the vet for care she desperately needed.
You see, Mora has kidney disease and she needs medication and a special diet to manage this, and to find a forever home that would ensure she lives out the remainder of her life in peace and tranquillity. She deserves to find a home that will care for her and give her all the love and attention her heart desires.
While she came with 3 other feline companions, she is a very petite girl and it is apparent that she has had to defend herself for quite a while. She does not like to share space with any other animals, Mora would definitely need a home where she could reign solo as the queen she is.
