Meet Monroe - No Longer Accepting New Applications (Waitlist Only)
Monroe is a 2-year-old domestic shorthair white furred ingénue with a black beauty mark on her mouth that channels her namesake Marilyn.
Monroe came into rescue as one of "the misfits", found as a community cat outdoors without a home. "Some like it hot," some like it cold, some like it fast and some like it slow. Monroe is one to like slow introductions in a patient home filled with understanding and routine. The quickest way to her heart is to keep her food and water bowl filled, leave out warm nooks and perches for her to snuggle into and let her come to you in her time. When you show her the home is not "all about Eve," but instead all about Monroe, she will snuggle up to her human. Once Monroe is comfortable you will see her start to get into some "monkey business," dribbling a pom-ball down the hallway or dancing in the air to grab a string toy.
Monroe is a "lady who prefers" the company of other cats in the home. Calmer more distant dogs are ok with her, but young and rowdy ones are sure to cause a "clash by night." As for "kids and this showgirl," she has not yet been around young kids, but due to her need for a calmer home, any kids would need to be of late elementary age or older.
