Monopoly's Story

Monopoly is a domestic short-haired black cat who came to AVA from a life of independence outdoors. Monopoly has made incredible progress in foster. The best way to establish trust with Monopoly is through food. She loves her wet food and lickable treats. Once she establishes trust with you, she enjoys bumping up against you and receiving lots of pets and neck scratches. Living indoors and being taken care of is new to this beautiful soul, but she was quick to recognize that there are so many benefits to it!

Things that she had to adjust to include sleeping with the lights off, nail trims (which she still isn’t sure she likes all that much), playing with toys, and being picked up (still not sure she enjoys this one either! Haha!) Monopoly is a very gentle girl and mainly communicates her fears and concerns by vocalizing them or hiding under the bed. Monopoly is best suited for an adult only quiet home. She may enjoy the company of another calm adult feline to keep her company.

Due to her level of comfort with the outdoors, we don’t think it would be a good idea to give her any kind of outdoor access, as it’s not her first instinct to live indoors or rely on people for her needs to be met. She will need a home that continues to give her positive reinforcement to show her all the amazing things life has to offer when you have the stability of a safe, loving, nurturing home.

Would you like to make Monopoly a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
