Molly was originally rescued as a kitten in Waterloo, Iowa by Waverly Pet Rescue back in August 2014. We fully vetted her and she was adopted in October 2014. They returned her to us July 15th, 2020. Molly is up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed.

Molly is now about 8 years old as of January 2022. Being returned was very hard on Molly. It took her several days to eat. She was upset and lashing out. She then become depressed. Now after a month she is settling in and doing better.

Molly is a sweet girl. She likes to be petted once she gets to know you. She seeks you out for attention. She is a very loving cat. Molly is a sweetheart.

Molly came back to us obese at 18 pounds. She is now getting exercise every day and only fed the proper amount of food each day. She will need an adopter willing to help her with slowly losing weight.

Molly was returned because she started pooping and peeing outside the litter box. She was fine and never did that until her owner got married, and 2 new cats joined the family and they picked on Molly. Molly did ok at first with them, but then started this undesirable behavior. Looks like Molly wants a home with no other cats. Or this could be from being so obese it has contributed to her litter box issues. As she loses weight and not around other cats, hopefully she will go back to using her litter box properly. It would be best if Molly has a quiet home. So no children would be best also.

8/2/21 UPDATE: Molly has lived in her foster home for over a year now. She is a sweet cat that loves attention. She also has had no litter box issues. She even has proved in the last couple of months that she can get along with other cats. She is a dominate cat and the cats she lives with are all submissive. She is boss cat and in charge. She may never be best friends with the other foster cats she lives with, but can co-exist with them in the same home. Molly also does well with dogs if given time and set up introductions properly!

Molly's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
