Meet Mojave
Meet Mojave, better known as Momo! This sweet, silly boy is looking for his forever family. Momo was named for the Mojave desert because his gorgeous, wildcat-like face and soft, sandy coat make him look like a desert sand cat.
Momo’s looks are so striking in part because he has microphthalmia, which means his eyes didn’t develop properly before he was born. It’s not painful or degenerative, but does mean he can’t see very well. Like most cats, he navigates just fine with his other senses anyway, and his poor vision doesn’t really seem to affect him. Momo is a super playful, silly young cat who adores cat trees and loves to pounce and chomp on his toys. He also plays with the other cats here at the rescue. He’s just a really easygoing, good-natured little guy.
Momo is very friendly and sweet, loves to roll around on the floor showing off his spotty belly, and would love to chase a toy if you would play with him. He can be shy when he first meets a new person, but warms up quickly and will be your new best friend before you know it. He could be happy with or without other kitty siblings in his future home, and gets along well with the large dog here at the rescue.
Momo’s partial blindness means he is technically a special needs cat, but he doesn’t really have any special needs—he just needs you to keep an eye out for him occasionally, since he can’t always do it perfectly for himself. When he was a kitten, he had a problem with his eyelids (entropion), but it was fixed with surgery and he is now healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. He is about 2.5 years old, is quiet and gentle, has been neutered, and is up to date on his shots. We are also open to a foster or foster-to-adopt home for handsome Momo.
