Mogley's Story
Loveland, CA

** No Children under 15 years of age **
** No Cats **
** Cat-Friendly Dog is okay **

Mogley is a HANDSOME marbled 5-year-old Bengal cat. This guy is rambunctious, healthy, and the FULL Bengal Experience!

We transferred Mogley into our program after the local shelter let us know that he had been returned to them THREE TIMES. They realized they should definitely turn to a breed-specific rescue to find permanent placement for Mogley.

The first time Mogley was taken to the shelter was in 2023. His owner at the time stated that they did not have enough time to spend with him. He was adopted very quickly to a new family.

The next family had him for 2 years. They returned him to the shelter stating that they could no longer afford his care.

Once again, Mogley was adopted out and quickly returned to the shelter. This time the shelter reported:

[Mogley has a] "History of "hunting" and grabbing on to previous guardian's legs several times per day, sometimes leaving small cuts from claws. Per previous guardian, this most often happened in
the morning."

Bengal Rescue's translation: MOGLEY IS BORED!!

(Which is something that can be cured by an attentive owner who is able to establish a routine with Mogley, and help him feel secure again.)

We got Mogley straight away to a wonderful foster who understands the Bengal breed and has oodles of experience. Here's what Mogley's foster has to say about him.

Mogley loves toys, people, and treats. He loves looking for hidden treats and racing me up the stairs. It's hilarious - he loves to crouch down at the top of the stairs and celebrate his win with a jump when I reach the top. He is a comedian who takes pleasure in the small things, like shredding boxes.

Definitely a "tree-dweller," Mogley loves to sleep on the top level of the cat tree. Another great high spot for him is the top of the dresser, which serves as an observation tower allowing him to survey his kingdom.

His activity level is medium (translation - still high energy as he is a Bengal). Mogley gets the zoomies in the morning and is then he's pretty chill after that.

Mogley is NOT a door darter; he is strictly an INDOOR cat. He has great litter box habits! Mogley eats Purina Pro chicken dry food and some different varieties of single serve wet food.

He has been introduced to our dog (wirehaired pointing Griffon 1.5 years old) through a baby gate, and he stretches and teases the dog a bit. Also, we have a leopard gecko lizard that he is not allowed to eat.

While my husband is occupied with the lizard, Mogley will pounce on his legs and then darts away but comes back wanting rubs on his leg. Unlike what the last owner said, he doesn't attack - he just wants attention.

Mogley will sometimes pounce on my arm or hand when I am playing with him again, never breaking the skin or scratching me. I say a firm NO and redirect him with a toy. We are not sure what triggers the pouncing on legs or arms other than he thinks it is funny.
He is not a cuddler but will rub all over us, and will "briefly" sit in our laps. He's happy to stretch out next to his people when he's in "low power mode."

Mogley absolutely LOVES people. Especially when they are attached to the other end of his beloved wand toys. He enjoys being petted, and will come for a little cuddle on his terms (like most Bengals).

Mogley is a healthy and highly adoptable cat. He needs someone who knows the breed and can give him the time and attention he needs to regain his confidence after being given up on, so many times.

If you are interested in adopting Mogley please fill out our adoption application:

https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRUT/Cat.
