Meet young and handsome MOCHA, a black and white tuxedo male kitty with a touch of white on his mustache. He is a year and 9 months old. Mocha, his littermates, and their young mama were abandoned just outside of town, taking shelter in a cluster of blackberry bushes. They were rescued and placed into loving foster homes so they could learn about just how good life with humans can be. Mocha is still on the shy side and will need a patient and understanding adopter. He likes affection on his own terms. Once he builds trust with you, he enjoys being petted. He will snuggle up on the floor next to his foster mom, or occasionally in her lap, every morning. Compared to most other cats, trimming Mocha's nails is very easy. Mocha is playful and intelligent. He loves all of the animals he has met in his foster placements. While he has not door dashed in his current foster home, he did follow the dogs outside in a previous placement. Mocha's favorite activities involve climbing on the cat tree, bird watching, chasing his fellow feline foster friends, and balancing on the office chair while batting at a wand toy. His favorite solo toy is a plastic spring. Mocha has learned to nose bump a finger and to give a high five through clicker training. In a new environment, he'll likely hide at first, but will come out to play if he hears a toy or sees another friendly cat. Mocha loves to play and cuddle with other foster kitties, thus he will do best in a household with at least one confident and friendly young cat (or dog) to show him the ropes and be his buddy. Mocha is a sweet boy who will blossom with the care of a loving, patient person or cat-savvy family. Could you be the one he's looking for?
Mocha has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and includes a free wellness vet visit with our vet partners. To meet Mocha in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The $145 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
