Meet young and handsome MOCHA, a black and white tuxedo male kitty with a touch of white on his mustache. He is about a year old. Mocha, his littermates, and their young mama were abandoned just outside of town, taking shelter in a cluster of blackberry bushes. They were rescued and placed into loving foster homes so they could learn about just how good life with humans can be. Mocha is still on the shy side and will need a patient and understanding adopter. He likes affection on his own terms, usually while in the safety of the cat tree. Mocha prefers to be pet only from his shoulders down, but once he builds trust, he occasionally enjoys short cheek rubs. Mocha is extremely playful and intelligent, but he is known to door dash and he enjoys chewing on things in his foster room. Because of this, he is looking for a home where he will have plenty of enrichment such as play opportunities, puzzles, things to climb and windows to look out. He has learned to nose bump a finger and to give a high five through clicker training, working for time with his favorite feather wand toy. In a new environment, he will likely hide but will come out to play if he hears a toy or sees a friendly cat. Mocha loves to play and cuddle with other foster kitties, thus he must have at least one confident and friendly young cat to show him the ropes and be his buddy. He is even friendly to cat savvy dogs. Mocha is a sweet boy who will blossom with the care of a loving, patient person or cat-savvy family. Could you be the one he's looking for?
Mocha has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and includes a free wellness vet visit with our vet partners. To meet Mocha in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The $145 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
