Meet Miss Kitty and Cato

Cato and Miss Kitty are a bonded pair, approximately six-eight years old. We asked them if they're siblings, but they didn't answer, although we think they are. Once upon a time, they had a home, but the person who meant the world to them dumped them outside and left them to fend for themselves. A kind couple put Miss Kitty into a cat carrier to get her off the street. As that happened, Cato came scurrying out from some bushes to them because he did not want to be parted from her. Unfortunately, this couple couldn't keep them, so they are now in a foster home awaiting adoption. Despite being abandoned and betrayed, this pair has not lost any of their friendliness. Once their trust has been earned, they are quite a loving pair who respond to petting with with an enthusiastic purr. We have not observed them with kids, but they peacefully coexist with the small dog and other cat in their foster home.

Cato has an auto-immune condition that results in some soreness around one of his ears and requires daily prednisone tablets, which is inexpensive and easy to administer, and a prescription diet. Beyond that, these are easy cats who will brighten any home and are suitable for a first-time adopter. They are clearly a bonded pair, so we will not even consider adopting them separately.

They have been:
- spayed/neutered
- vaccinated against rabies and distemper
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- treated for worms and fleas

Their adopter will receive their medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. We know the world doesn't beat a path to middle-aged cats, so their adoption fee has been reduced to a mere $45 for both-- a bargain for a pair of affectionate cats who will love you for the rest of their lives. They're being fostered in Reading.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to them and provide a safe, loving home for life, then respond to RoyCBarrows@gmail.com. Please include your phone number for a faster response and say a little about yourself and the home you would provide for them as we try to match people with the right cats.
