Meet Milly Mittens

Milly Mittens sure meets her name. She has the HUGEST front paws - they are practically like thumbs thanks to her being a polytoed Hemingway cat. She came to us after her owner's health meant that she could no longer care for Milly. She is a very shy cat and had a hard time adjusting to the loss of her home and owner. In fact, for the first month in our home, Milly was in hiding, and we never saw her! Pet cameras showed her exploring her room and eating and drinking just fine when we weren't home or overnight, so we knew she was at least ok. After one month, she started venturing out and giving adorable little kitten meows as she is a girl who likes to talk to you. You talk back and are rewarded with a little meow. She has now started venturing out in our house more but loud noises will send her skittering back to her room - which she sees as her safe zone. She also isn't a huge fan of our little dogs, as they scare her a bit. Every day, she blossoms more and more and is turning into a very friendly, loving cat. If you are looking for a chatty kitty that loves to play and be pet, she is your girl!

She has great litterbox habits, even with the changes in her life. She loves cat nip toys and a little cat tree that came from her original home. She LOVES Temptations cat treats as this is a quick way to win her over.

This girl is just four years old and has lots of love left to give a loyal owner. She is healthy and current on vaccinations. She is a bit overweight so we are working on keeping her active and putting a little less in her food bowl.

A potential adopter must understand that Milly needs time to adjust to a new home. They should plan setting up her own room with her door shut so she has time to acclimate before introducing her to a full house. They should be realistic that it may take a while before Milly is completely comfortable.

If you have time and patience and love in your heart, please consider her. Please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com for more information or fill out an application, available at tysonsplacerescue.org.
