ABOUT:
Sweet and gentle Milena is looking for a special home to adopt her. Milena has been with us since she was a little kitten, but she has always been the shy/reserved type. She has been in her current foster home, waiting for adoption, for more than a year. Milena is never going to be a lap cat nor a snuggler, but she is fantastic with other animals. She is currently being fostered with 2 dogs, and 4 cats. Because Milena is more “into” animals than she is people, we will require that she be adopted into a home with at least one other pet who will appreciate and welcome her company. She loves to curl up and hang with the other cats and dogs, but has never been much into playing.

Milena’s ideal home might be one that is looking to add an additional pet as a companion to an existing pet(s), but are concerned about having enough attention to share with another pet. Maybe they work long hours and have an existing pet who could benefit from a buddy, but likes to be the center of attention when it comes to people. Milena will never compete for attention.

Although Milena doesn’t always want people all-up-in-her-business, she is very curious. She loves to sit back and watch the activity of the house. Her foster mom says if she gets scared away it’s only a few minutes before her curiosity draws her back in. You might even say she’s a little creepy in the way that she is always around :) She likes to be around to observe, but will always be at a distance. She will let her foster mom give her some butt scratches on occasion, but they don’t last long and she is never one to seek them out.

Milena’s current foster home has young grandchildren that visit frequently. She always chooses to remove herself from the environment when the kids are around, so she will do best in a home with no children. Visiting children won’t be a problem, she’s smart enough to remove herself until they leave. But overall Milena needs a quiet, predictable environment that cannot be provided by a home with young children.

Chi-Town Shy Cat Program:
Shy cats tend to spend more time waiting for their forever homes because their initial meet and greets don’t go well because they are usually hiding under a chair or behind the couch. Most of these shy cats have come around with their primary caretaker and just need to adjust to a new person and environment.

We have a program specifically designed to give them the chance to shine. Our shy cats are available for a foster to adopt period of 30 days so that they can decompress and become comfortable allowing their potential adopter to get to know them. We will bring all the supplies needed, if the foster chooses to make it permanent and adopt at the end of the 30 days they get to keep all the supplies.

Milena is eligible for adoption through the Chi-Town Shy Cat Program.
