Melody Domestic Short Hair Mix Portland, OR

Addendum: Melody was adopted 3 weeks ago but is being returned today 6-14-21, as the resident cat did not appreciate her high activity level. She MUST go to a home with other young friendly and ACTIVE cats, or friendly dogs. She has a lot of energy!

Melody is highly intelligent, friendly, and responsive to new people. She likes to be picked up but usually doesn't want to be held for too long. She can run very fast and loves to play and climb for hours at a time; she has a lot of energy and would do best in a house with space to explore and another playful animal to buddy up. She is quite vocal and makes the cutest sounds; however, she prefers to not be alone and will let you know by meowing loudly and eagerly grabbing your leg to greet you upon arrival. She was never aggressive with us or our other cat, however, she has trouble discerning between toys and fingers and occasionally attacked our hands... she can also be a bit bitey and so will need some training. She can jump very high and is somewhat fearless, sometimes trying for the top shelves just to see if she can make it. She seems curious about the outside and may require some clever manoeuvering to keep her indoors. She was at her most sweet and cuddly when she slept in my bed with me every night, though she is an early riser and ready to play upon waking. I started clicker-training her to sit and she seemed responsive so it may be possible to train her further.

Sweet Melody is so very special and so patient and friendly. She was born in January 2021. Melody flew here all the way from an overcrowded shelter in Hawaii, but she is not stressed at all! Melody is very social.
