Meet Mellie
Mellie is a very special girl looking for a forever family who will love and accept her, poop nuggets and all.
I rescued Mellie from a euthanasia list in May 2020. She was surrendered to the shelter unable to use her hind legs - one was badly broken, she had pelvic and spinal fractures, and her tail was essentially detached. She had surgery to repair her leg, her tail was amputated, and she had a lot of rest... and guess what? You'd never know she suffered those injuries beyond noticing she doesn't have a tail!
Mellie is just like any other cat - she loves to play with toys and chase the younger kittens around, she climbs, runs, jumps, and has no limitations. The only problem? She doesn't always poop in the litter box. This issue is very likely due to the trauma she suffered, she cannot fully feel when she needs to have a poop... so you'll find poop nuggets. The good news is that Mellie does have full control of her bladder and uses the litter box to urinate in.
Mellie gets OTC Metamucil sprinkled onto her food to help keep things solid, She also eats a diet of wet or raw food,
