Hi, my name is Max! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Active/energetic, independent, gregarious, a little uncertain of new things
-Can Live with Cats: No, Max has FIV and needs to be the only kitty in the home. (He also has a documented history of fighting with and bullying other cats)
-Can Live with Dogs: Unknown history, but seems confident enough! Will need slow, supervised intro to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can Live with Kids: No, Max is *quite* particular about the way he is handled and is very easily overstimulated. He does not like to be picked up, restrained, or otherwise coddled, and is quick to let you know!! Max needs a cat-experienced, adult-only home with knowledge of feline body language and overstimulation, that's able to read/respect his body language and give him the space he needs.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, Max is FIV+ and needs to be an INDOOR ONLY kitty to avoid passing it along to other cats.
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: HIGH!
-Bite History: No, but don't test me! ;)
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes-- neuter/microchip
Additional Information: My name is MAX and I love SNACKS! Might you have some snacks, perhaps? Packs of snacks or stacks of snacks, scraps of snacks for Mr. Max? Max was previously an outdoor neighborhood cat, free-roaming and fending for himself. After multiple instances of busting through a neighbors cat door and bullying the resident kitty out of it's food, Max was finally brought into the shelter. Having been primarily outdoors with minimal human interaction, Max is still learning to trust and that humans aren't scary. He can be a little timid at first, and isn't always in the mood for attention. He's more of a "pet me with your eyes" type of cat :) Max would really love a home where he can roam around, climb a cat tree, bat his toys around, and rule the roost!
