4/2/2019: Martin is a good looking’ orange and white tabby. He’s 3 years old. This guy loves to talk! He knows his name and talks back when you greet him! Martin likes some but not all cats. He doesn't like dogs.
Martin had stomatitis and had to have all his teeth removed. He's doing well now. He likes wet food okay but still prefers dry food.
Martin was originally at KCK Animal Control and he was a stray. He was pretty scared, so we transferred him to our shelter to help him become more trusting and find him a home. Martin has made a LOT of progress. He loves to be held and he's not hand shy anymore. And he does well with kids.
Martin has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for FIV and feline leukemia.
MORE ON ADOPTING OUR CATS...
> WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO SUBMIT AN ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. By submitting an online application, we can process your application more quickly and can schedule an appointment for you to come in so that our small staff can serve you best. It also allows us to make arrangements if you’d like to meet a pet in foster care. Please visit our web site at HSGKC.ORG for an adoption application and more information about our adoption process, fees and all that's included. An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements.
> If you decide you'd like to adopt one of the pets you meet, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the pet home with you that day. We’ll instead schedule a pick up date and time that’s convenient for you.
> Most of our cats are not confined in cages but instead live in our spacious and sunny cat rooms. It's a great environment for them, it allows us to get to know them well, and it's a nice environment for you to come in to visit -- and find your perfect match!
> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for feline leukemia. Kittens who are too young to receive all the necessary kitten boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. Take advantage of our ADOPT-A-BUDDY program: Adopt two cats or kittens together at a greatly reduced adoption fee!
