Meet Marigold

My name is Marigold, and I am a very special, pint sized, kitty. I had 3 beautiful kittens (who have all been adopted) while I was still a kitten, so my growth is stunted a bit. I weigh in at 7 lbs., but I’m smaller in stature than the average cat. I’m a unique white and orange only female who is sassy, sweet, bossy, and oh so cute. One of my spots even looks like a heart! I love roughhousing with my foster brother, running full speed around the house, trilling and purring up a storm, and the comforts of indoor life. I had a couple of complications a few weeks after giving birth that required two abdominal surgeries, but you would never know. The vet says I do need to stay on a special food because of my surgeries, but I’m small and don’t eat that much. I became an indoor kitty in July, but I have no interest in going back outside. I can get nervous around new things or when I get in trouble for jumping on tables (this is where some of my sass shows), but you just need to give me a few good head scratches. I’m not opposed to sitting in your lap, but I am a cat and it needs to be my idea.

Marigold must be in a home with a younger cat or kitten playmate. She’s fine with dogs, as long as they don’t get all up in her business. Her two surgeries involved removing the majority of her large intestine, so she needs a special prescription GI food. She's currently on Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Feline Formula, and she will need to stay on this or another vet prescribed GI food for life. Marigold cannot have access to any additional food sources such as treats, other cat food, or human food. This a very high calorie food, so she should not be free fed. She currently eats 3 small meals a day. Due to her small size, one 10 lb. bag of her current food lasts for several months.
