One meaning for the name Mara is "of the sea", and this kitten reflects that name with her beauty, her big green eyes, and her slightly "salty" personality! She plays hard and loves a good cuddle, all on her terms. She is adorably feisty and assertive, and will literally get in your face when she’s hungry or wants some love. She is the "diva" in her foster family, and is never shy about expressing her needs. She enjoys the company of other cats and is usually the one in charge, despite her size.

From the time she was a tiny kitten, Mara had an eye twitch. It took some investigation to learn that the eye twitch was a sign of pain resulting from a spinal condition. The vet opinion is that surgery is not an option, but that Mara should be able to live a happy life if her chronic pain is managed with medication and regular vet checks.

Her condition hasn’t slowed Mara down one bit! She would do well in a home with an older or less active cat to limit rough play, and for the same reason she would be best suited for a home without young kids.

Mara has been spayed, tattooed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and has been Vet checked. Her medical records will accompany her upon adoption.
