Meet Mama Bear
Mama Bear is a beautiful 9.5-year old long-haired girl who is calm and quiet. With a slow and gentle approach, she’ll accept gentle pets on her head or chin which she enjoys, even though she doesn’t want to admit it at first! She tends to hiss when her foster mom approaches but it’s more habitual noise than anything else. She is shy and a little scared so will need a patient home that can give her the time she needs to come out of her shell and enjoy the love and attention she deserves. Mama Bear would be best suited in a quiet adult household, and must be adopted into a home with another mature and calm cat for companionship and to help her feel confident in her world. It is quite evident that she feels comfortable in the presence of other quiet cats, as she will come out and lounge around with them.
She was found outdoors with her babies (along with Quinn and her babies) who have all since been adopted. She and Quinn have been in foster care for a couple of years, and Quinn has also found her forever, so it is Mama Bear’s turn to find a family of her own where she can be herself and be loved in spite of her shyness.
Would you like to make Mama Bear a part of your family? You can start the virtual adoption process by filling in our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form.
Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.
Adoption fees are $200 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
