Mama is an affectionate girl who, after his owner began experiencing difficult life hardships, regretfully had to be given up to find a new home. Mama came to HART with her foster brother Naughty.
Give Mama a few days in a calm environment and she will warm up to you and your attention. She loves to be pet and has a distinctively loud purr (she will let you know when she’s happy). She can be playful, but may not always seek you out for affection or play - make sure she knows that it is available and she will happily accept.
Mama does also like to have her space. She likes to rest in many spots - she will gladly sleep on beds, computer chairs, the floor, or a cat tower (if she can lay on it, expect her to do so.) She likes both dry and wet food, and seems to enjoy being pet when she is offered food (best of both worlds, right?)

Mama will do best in a calm environment. It is recommended that you start her out in one room (and she will gravitate to this room when she can) and gradually expand her territory for a smooth transition.

Mama has not been exposed to dogs.
Like her name suggests, Mama likes to be the boss of the home. She gets along with her foster brother, but when she’s ready to be left alone she will make sure he knows (but not TOO mean, just knows how to make it clear she’s ready for her “me time”!) Because of this, it is recommended that new pets have a VERY gradual introductory period - if she doesn’t have some time to adjust to her new pet housemates, it is expected she might become territorial.
With that being said, she is a sweet gal who would make a great addition to your family. Just make sure she knows she’s welcome (and maybe let her rule the roost just a little!)
