Meet Maggie Mae (rescued from abuse FCID# 01/07/19-31)
Please extend a warm hand a heart to Maggie Mae (FCID# 01/07/2019 - 31). This sweet little girl was rescued by one of our longtime volunteers from the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia on a cold February night. Maggie was clearly someone's pet who was left behind and abandoned, and while searching for food and shelter she wandered into the hand's of the wrong people. Sadly, Maggie was captured by a group of young teens who for amusement decided to hang her up using a tourniquet attached to her front paw (see pic below). It was then that a nearby neighbor contacted our volunteer who was able to rescue Maggie in the nick of time and bring her to Forgotten Cats clinic where she was examined and treated by our wonderful staff. But sadly, because of Maggie's experience at the hands of the pranksters, she was very distrusting of her caretakers at first. However, much like Sir Rod’s Maggie Mae, our love for her did not need to be coaxed, and her story stole our hearts, and we would not give up on Maggie. We all rallied behind Maggie, nursing her back to health while also slowly regaining her trust along the way, and now, Maggie is back to her old sweet, trusting self. Maggie is a complete sweetheart who deserves to be treated like the true princess she is. She really is a sweet cat. Maggie Mae is one you can pick up and hold; she will sit on your lap or up against your leg while watching TV etc. Now that Maggie Mae has her groove back, she is ready to be someone new’s love and muse in her forever home. Will you be that person to make the difference in Maggie's life? Maggie Mae just needs a chance, and we know she will sweep you off your feet. Maggie Mae is at our adoption center in the Brandywine PetSmart. She is hoping to visit with YOU! Please submit a no-obligation adoption application to adopt Maggie Mae: http://www.forgottencats.org/application.php. Thank you for considering giving Maggie Mae the love she deserves.
