Purebred Donskoy, Brush/wire coat, 2-year-old, tortoiseshell, female spayed, blue eyes, with claws, 8.5 pounds.

Dog friendly: With a gentle dog who would ignore her.

GETTING TO KNOW ME

Luna Moon is a stunning purebred Russian Donskoy. WHAT? She is not naked, she can’t be a Donskoy. Oh, yes, she can!! Donskoy have 4 different coat patterns from naked to a brush/wire coat. Luna has a fascinating brush/wire coat. Her coat is thin and almost bristly. Her color patterns of rust and black are striking.

Luna Moon is a happy, joyful girl who is confident and curious. It is hard not to be captured by the depths of her blue eyes. She moves with ease, loves to play, can leap a building in a single bound and purrs up a storm. There is everything to love about this little one and nothing to hesitate over. (Although she really does get the zoomies late in the night. )

She gets along well with other cats, cannot wait to have a family of her own and looks forward to new adventures. A former breeding queen, there are no more babies in her future. Being only 2-years old herself, she is just starting to really live!

Luna Moon loves to be busy and should have feline and human companionship. Being left alone for extended periods of time without human touch and attention is cruel for her. She should have lots of high and low places to explore, many snuggly blankets and plenty of good food.

Not to be confused with a sphynx cat, Donskoy is quite the opposite. The hairless trait in Donskoy is derived from the mutation of a dominant gene. (In sphynx the hairless trait comes from a recessive gene. Although any cat can develop HCM, Donskoy are not predisposed to it like sphynx.) Also, unlike the sphynx some Donskoy, like Luna, have hair.

Unlike her naked relatives, Luna does not need a ton of grooming. Her coat does not mat. There is enough hair to absorb the oils naturally produced by her body, so she does not feel waxy nor need to be regularly bathed. Expect normal ear and nail maintenance as you would for any cat. Donskoy are NOT hypoallergenic.

Luna Moon is schedule fed twice per day including a breakfast of Honest Kitchen along with some kibble. She enjoys a mix of Nutro and ProPlan kibble. She has his choice of multiple litterboxes with unscented clumping litter that are scooped several times per day.

VETTING PROVIDED

To ensure ultimate health, Luna Moon is spayed, rabies and FVRCP vaccinated, been tested negative for FELV/FIV, has been dewormed and treated for parasites, and is microchipped.

Fostered in OSHKOSH, Wisconsin

Luna Moon’s adoption fee is $450.
