Meet Louise
Louise is a beautiful, 12-year-old, affectionate senior kitty looking for her forever home!
Don't let her age fool you—Louise is playful, sassy, and one of the friendliest cats you'll ever meet! This stunning girl is very, very curious and will not hesitate to check out any new people or things. She's very smart and will quickly figure out how things work. Louise loves hanging out near her people; if you work from home, don't be surprised if she hops up on your desk and lays down next to your computer!
Louise loves attention, but only on her timeline. She will not hesitate to ask for pets politely and then be very demanding if you don't respond right away. She will also be very clear when she's all done with getting attention! She loves getting her chin scratched, the top of her head, behind her ears, and butt scratches. She will tolerate (and sometimes really enjoy) full body pats. You don't have to pet her extremely gently; she doesn't mind (and sometimes loves) some more intentional pats. Her petting preferences can change, so it’s best to gauge what she's feeling like in the moment, and respond accordingly.
Louise loves sleeping on hard flat things. While she's not opposed to beds, she's much more comfortable on a table, desk, or the floor. She loves paper on the floor or desk, and will scratch at it before settling down. She enjoys hanging out with you and just keeping an eye on what you're doing (including following you into the bathroom!). Her favorite toys are anything string-related or anything that crinkles like plastic. She doesn't like ball-shaped things, nor is she food motivated. She loves laser pointers—these work best if you move it around in a slow circle. She absolutely adores her cat tunnel and will often hangout inside of it.
Louise has a fairly early breakfast in her foster home, but she generally doesn’t eat right away when her food is presented to her. She's definitely a grazer; she will most likely finish her food within the next couple of hours. She usually wants to play in the morning for a little bit. Afterwards, she understands if you have to leave. She is curious about what is outside of the door, but will not bolt; if you don't keep an eye on her, though, she might wander out—so keeping a vigilant eye out to make sure she stays inside when coming and going is important.
Louise will usually sleep most of the day, with intermittent playtimes; she gets energy spurts quite randomly. If there are windows nearby, she loves looking out—especially if there is a lot of activity (like birds or cars) outside. When you get home from work, she will be very happy to see you and very playful! It's best to spend at least 30 minutes playing with her. After dinner, she most likely wants to play some more or be given lots and lots of pets.
Louise's ideal home would be with someone who can give her plenty of attention and playtime; she would love to have her owner around to just hang out with. She would do best in a home with no kids, or with kids who are respectful of her boundaries. Louise has not met any dogs, and did not react well to a new kitten coming into her former home, so this diva may want to be your one and only four-legged princess.
Although she is very outgoing and playful, she definitely enjoys her alone time. She is currently in a studio apartment, but would do best in at least a one- or two-bedroom apartment, or a house.
As an older lady, Louise is in early-stage kidney failure. She has a special diet that she must be fed daily, and needs access to plenty of fresh water; she will also need her litter box changed frequently. Her new owner just needs to be attentive to any signs of digestive upset, make sure she eats her food, and have her kidney levels monitored at her regular veterinary checkups. Other than these fairly basic measures, Louise is pretty easy to take care of.
Louise is very sassy and wants to be treated like a queen, but she is a ton of fun and not high maintenance. Anyone who gets the privilege of adopting this adorable girl will be rewarded with helping her live her best life in her golden years. Are you ready to share your home and your heart with the gorgeous Louise?
