About

Health
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. The animal you are adopting has tested positive for Heartworms. There is no treatment for cats. He will need to be kept on a monthly heartworm preventative to help prevent the infection from worsening. Over time, the adult worms may die off and effectively clear the infection if he is maintained on the preventative. He may have permanent damage to his heart from the worms and in worse case sudden death may occur from the disease. Regular monitoring with a Primary Care Veterinarian is recommended.
Good in a home with
Other cats, dogs, children.

Petfinder recommends that you should always take reasonable security steps before making online payments.

Meet Louis

The adoption fee for cats is $30 for one or $50 for two. Kittens are $50 each or 2 for $90. Kittens and cat friendly cats do very well in pairs. They always have a buddy when you're away and kittens are very playful and appreciate a friend. Another kitten or cat makes the purrfect playmate and two cats aren't much more work than one.  Consider two cats if you can. All our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, Felv and FIV negative and up to date on their vaccines.  Please call 970-625-8808 for more information about this cat. Please leave a message if no one answers.  We are often busy and can't get to the phone.  We are open every day from 8-5. We are closed for major holidays. Thank you for thinking adoption first and check us out on Facebook at Rifle Animal Shelter!

This guy just wants a warm home to relax in! Not here at the shelter!
Louis is approximately 5 years old and weighs 11 pounds. This guy was transferred to our shelter from New Mexico. He would love being an indoor kitty and would be good in a home with other animals and children too.
Louis is heartworm positive, now we don’t see it as much in cats, but it still can happen. Unfortunately there is no treatment for cats, but he will need to be kept on a monthly preventative to help prevent the infection from worsening. We will have a member of our veterinary team discuss and answer questions potential adopters may have.
Louis is so deserving of a loving home and we know it’s out there for this sweet guy!
If you are interested in Louis, please give us a call at 970-625-8808! His adoption fee is $16 this month thanks to our sponsor Wags and Menace Make a Difference Program Foundation!!
