Meet LOUIE

Louie... Big, handsome, strong, masculine, playful, affectionate, insanely intelligent Louie. Louie, whose assets have also been his liabilities, during his attempts at adoption placement. Louie, who cannot live with other cats. Period. Must be only cat. Louie who came off the streets, was saved from EU at a shelter, didn't work out in a group foster home, was returned from an adopter after a week, lived contentedly with a foster individual in a spare bedroom for a couple months, was returned from a second adopter after a week (similar reasons as the first), and has since been staying alone in a small private room at the cat lounge while we search for his perfect home. Why were Louie's two adoptions not a good fit? Both couples would tell you that it wasn't Louie's fault. They would say he is a great cat and they loved him. But they would talk about his intensity and his intelligence and how they felt somewhat intimidated by him. They would say he needs "someone who can keep up with him."

His first adopter described Louie this way: "He's not a laser pointer guy. Strictly 'stick and carrot' type prey toys, boxes, tunnels, levels like he's a real-life platforming game. Louie loves company and will let you know when he's over it, as long as given time to sniff things out. He is social and not lazy."

Louie is FIV+ but young (2 years old) and healthy. He is neutered and vaccinated. He has perfect litterbox manners. He is not picky about food. He has proven to be adaptable and able to be content in less-than-ideal environments. He makes the most of things, but deserves better.

P.S. His ear has gradually bent since we met him in mid-October. No trauma and no obvious cause, but there it is. Bent-eared Louie. Extra charm, right?
