Meet Loki

Loki is a playful 2-year-old male cat looking for his forever home. True to his name, Loki is a mischievous boy that is an undercover lover. He was found alone in a parking lot, so has taken some time to warm up to and trust people. Little by little, he has come out of his shell and now adores pets and cuddling up by his foster mom's legs. She is still working with him on chewing cords and small things, scratching, and picking him up. His adopter will need to be patient and allow Loki to open up and interact in his own time as well continuing his behavior training. He enjoys when his foster mom echos his "talking," and will have a long conversation when he wants her attention.

Loki is playful, both on his own and with his foster mom. She will hear him batting toys around in his room, and has been able to play with him using wands and toys. Loki also likes to lounge in front of the window to watch his "Cat TV." Loki will need a fair amount of simulation and supervision to curb his energy, which often leads to chewing on inappropriate items. He also tends to use his claws and mouth while playing.

Loki is very food motivated, so his foster mom uses puzzle toys to slow down his eating. He's very smart and figures them out quickly, but still enjoys the brain stimulation. He likes his foster mom to sit with him while he eats so he can take breaks to get lots of pets. Loki will eat any food left out for other pets as well, so it will be best to separate the pets at mealtime.

Loki is currently living with his foster mom and resident dog in a townhouse. He very much would like a playmate—the resident dog is elderly and wants none of it, but a friendly, confident cat would go a long way to helping build Loki's trust. He would likely do well with non-reactive dogs as well.

Loki has so much love to give to someone that is willing to let him engage on his own schedule and continue his training. As it's difficult to hold Loki for nail trimming or get him into a crate, it would be helpful for him to go to a home with two adults. As he is still scratching and mouthing, Loki would not do well in a home with young children.
