INTRODUCING... LITA! She is a gorgeous Brown Marbled Tabby with a lot of white,
and she's a good size girl!
(Check out the tabby 'glove' she was blessed with on her left front foot... too cute!)
Having lived outside in a
neighborhood in west Waterloo for at least a year, a kind lady called a LHAR foster mom to see if we could help catch her and her 3 kittens, who had taken up residence in her garage. She was hoping we could tame her kittens down as they were simply adorable... so on a cold evening on 11/10/22, two foster mom's took some traps over and were successfully able to trap all 3 kittens and this beautiful mama, too! You really must see her fur coat in person - pictures just do not do her justice!
Lita has a strong bond with her 'baby girl' Whitney, and we truly believe Whitney will be lost without having her mama to cuddle with! We strongly believe adopting bonded kitties is the best option to having a happy household,
and
Last Hope Animal Rescue gives you a $25 discount if you adopt a pair together, too!
"
Until there are none, please adopt one; So they aren't blue, why not adopt two?"
(author unknown)
When first taken inside, Lita was very skittish and hid a lot of the time, but since being trapped, she has blossomed into a very sweet and loving girl! Her foster mom & dad have been very gentle and loving with her and the kittens since taking them in; she has been out and about in her foster home for the past several months and gets along great with their adult cats and their big dog, too! She was in attendance at our adoption event at Petsmart on 7/15/23 and didn't seem bothered at all with all the commotion going on!
At first, these two beauties may be a bit leary, but once you earn their trust, they will shower you with love and affection! Once she gets to know you, Whitney is a lover who adores cuddling up on a lap for some pets and snuggles and Lita has really settled in and is living her best life now... she's a super sweet girl who enjoys being spoiled and loved!
Both Lita and Whitney are very intelligent and love playing with toys, especially string toys, and climbing up high. They are always on the lookout for new playmates and will eagerly engage with other cats (and Delilah, the sweet pitbull) in the house.
Lita was completely vetted at IHA on 12/13/22, as were her kittens. Her two male kittens were adopted together, and her little female gave us quite a scare when she developed a medical issue, but she is doing great now! Lita tested NEG/NEG for FeLK/FIV, has been spayed, has been given a Rabies vaccination and her FVRCP vaccination. She was given Revolution, which is an internal, external parasite treatment, and she was microchipped. Our microchips have a free, lifetime registration, and LHAR will register her for you. You will want to make sure you always keep your information current in the company's microchip system should you ever change your name, address, phone number(s), email addresses, etc.
Lita's adoption fee is $85.00, which is a bargain for all the vetting she has had done. Lita and her kitten, Whitney, are currently residing in the Waterloo, IA Petsmart Adoption Center, located at 1506 Flammang Dr. in the Crossroads Shipping Center area - nestled between Hy-Vee and Barnes and Noble Book Store. You can stop by anytime to see not only them, but also several other Last Hope Animal Rescue kitties who are available for adoption! Unfortunately, due to lack of enough workers in the store, they can't introduce them to you, but you can watch them play and interact with you through the big windows of their 'kitty condo' during normal business hours: Monday-Saturday 9:00-9:00 and from 10:00-7:00 on Sunday; holiday hours will vary. If a LHAR volunteer happens to be there cleaning, they might have time to introduce these beautiful kitties to you, though!
You can apply for
Lita and Whitney
online through our Last Hope Animal Rescue website at
www.adopthope.org.
You must be pre-approved to adopt; a LHAR volunteer will meet you at the store after your application is approved so you can spend time with your potential new family member(s). Applicants must be 21 years old; all animals in the potential home must be spayed or neutered, be UTD on all required vaccinations and kept as inside pets only in order for your application to be approved.
