Animal Ark Warren County's Adoption Policy

Adoptions are done Monday through Friday 11-4 on a first come, first adopt basis. We are not able to hold. We do not have an online application, adoptions are done in person at the shelter only and by the person who is to be the new owner. We do adopt out of state. All animals are required to be spaye or neutered within 60 days of the adoption unless a veterinarian advises otherwise, proof needs to be emailed or faxed to the shelter once the surgery has been completed. Adoption fees are $60 for dogs or puppies and $50 for cats or kittens. All dogs are given their first set of vaccinations, heartworm tested over 6 months, dewormed, microchipped and given flea/tick medication if needed. Cats and kittens are dewormed, given their first set of vaccinations, tested for FIV/Felv, dewormed, microchipped and treated for fleas/ticks if needed. All animals over 4 months are vaccinated for rabies. The shelter can only accept cash or checks. We are not open on weekends or holidays.
