Lina Turkish Van Burleson, TX

Lina is a Purebred Turkish Van, with papers, and is looking for an exceptional home! She is 6 years old, spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. Her coat is medium length and her color is Red Classic Tabby and White.

Lina is a former TICA Quadruple Champion and the epitome of the Turkish Van breed with odd eyes (one blue and one amber). Lina was rescued from an elderly breeder that was unable to care for her properly for quite some time.

Lina is very sweet after she has warmed up to you. She will want to be brushed, played with and will want to be near you, especially while you sleep.

Lina’s perfect home wish list is as follows:
- Lots of sunny spots to enjoy
- Cat perches and trees to utilize her breed’s climbing ability and love of heights
- A home without children. She is comfortable with neutered male cats and larger dogs that like cats. She may be dominant with female cats and small dogs.
- Catnip scratchers and toys
- Someone who will play with her at least once daily. She is still very active and playful!
- Someone who can brush her daily
- Someone who appreciates an intelligent cat and their curiosity
- Someone who likes cats that "talk" to them

Turkish Van fur doesn’t have an undercoat so it is less likely to mat than other long-haired cat breeds. Also, Turkish Vans shed less than most long-haired cats.

Pedigree Turkish Vans typically sell for $800-$1500. As we are a rescue organization, we are asking $350 just to help cover the cost of medical care.

Note: Any potential adopters must agree to NOT DECLAW this cat. Lina likes and uses both vertical and horizontal scratchers.

Adoption fee for Lina is $350. Papers will be provided upon adoption and the new owner can contact TICA to have registration transferred to them.

Why do we have adoption fees? Every rescue receives a complete physical exam, is spayed/neutered and vaccinated. In addition each rescue receives any other necessary medical care and is fed a premium food diet. Our rescues are never caged and given lots of love and attention, which helps with socialization. We feel this best prepares each rescue for their new home and we've saved you the time and higher expenses that go along with the needed medical care for a new pet.
