Limerick's Story

*** NOTE: Limerick is recovering from a disease called FIP. He is well down the road to recovery and doing fantastic, but will require some ongoing monitoring for a few months to be sure he stays happy and healthy! More details below. ****

Limerick and his two siblings were abandoned along with their mom in a Baltimore City park and were living under a bush. Although the little family was rescued and had all found homes, Limerick was returned to us when he was diagnosed with FIP. He has fortunately responded very well to treatment! After a few tumultuous months, he is very ready to find his true forever home.

Limerick was born around mid April. He is now neutered, dewormed, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and microchipped. He and his two sisters are also polydactyl... they have extra toes! You can see his "thumbs" in some of the photos. (Note: most of these pics are from when he was still quite small, he’s a bit bigger now and more new pics will be coming soon!)

He is VERY affectionate and loves to cuddle with his human. He is currently living with other cats and will need a feline friend to play with. He is also currently living with cat-friendly dogs.

FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) is a disease that until very recently was 100% fatal. Miraculously, a new medication is now available that cures the disease and most cats recover fully! We can explain in more detail to anyone who is interested, but the vet has cleared Limerick to find a new home and thinks he is well on the road to recovery. He does need a dedicated owner who will monitor his health carefully… and, obviously, with everything he has been through we want him to find an amazing home! So be prepared, we will be fussy!

Limerick is being fostered in the Riverside neighborhood of South Baltimore. He is not part of Walter Rescue and is being listed here as a courtesy. Please send an email if you’re interested in this sweet boy!
