This is LillyPilly, a very lucky little girl. LillyPilly was rescued from the middle of a busy roadway, with cars driving over her, by a Good Samaritan who is originally from Australia (hence the name - LillyPilly is an Australian shrub). He noticed a small bit of fur in the road...but it moved! He stopped traffic and picked her up - she weighed just barely over half a pound. Not being familiar with baby kittens, he brought her to his neighbor, who just happened to be one of our volunteers. LillyPilly was extremely thin and severely dehydrated - but she is a fighter...even sporting road rash on two of her legs, she wasn't quite ready to give up. And oh my goodness, has she blossomed! She has grown into a truly beautiful and unusual kitten. She has wonderful Lynx Point Siamese coloring, with the long back legs and kinked tail of a Japanese Bobtail. LillyPilly loves other cats, and thinks that long tails make the perfect kitten toy. She loves to run and jump and play with all kinds of toys. LillyPilly also loves to snuggle with you and will stretch out and sleep in your arms for as long as you are willing to hold her. She is a bit shy with new people, but warms up quickly if you just give her a short time to settle in. LillyPilly will be a gorgeous, unusual and loving companion for some very lucky family.
