My previous family surrendered me because I was going after the birds I lived with — but hey, I’m a natural-born hunter! No one told me they were off-limits. I even lived with a dog, but unfortunately, both of us had to go. When I first arrived at PAC, I was shy, scared, and unsure of everything. But with time, care, and especially after being spayed, I started to feel better and let my real personality shine through. I’m a striking black-and-white girl with a special touch of silvery gray in my coat — it’s called a fever coat, which happens when a kitten’s mama is sick during pregnancy. It makes me look extra magical! I didn’t grow up learning how to “cat” properly, so I’m still figuring things out. I want to play, I just don’t always know how — but I’m not too old to learn! I’d really benefit from having a calm, confident cat buddy who doesn’t mind showing me the ropes. I’m not aggressive, just inexperienced, and I truly want to connect. If you can give me the patience, love, and stability I’ve never really had, I’ll give you my whole heart. I’m ready for my second chance — are you the one who’ll help me find it?

Providence Animal Control's Adoption Policy

*All adoptions are by appointment only and we do need an application submitted first!* How do I adopt? You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt. If you are 18 years of age and live at home with your parent or parents, you must have permission from your parent(s) or better yet, have them visit the adoptable animals with you! You will need to provide proof that you own your own home, a utility bill or property tax statement with your name and address on it will do. If you rent a home or apartment, please have your landlords’ permission (a letter/lease agreement or email) to own a pet or multiple pets. If you find an animal on our PetFinder page that you would like to visit/adopt, please contact PACadoptions@providenceri.gov for an application. Once you are approved, you will visit the animal(s) you are interested in and if the meet and greet goes well, adoption next steps will be given; pay the adoption fee and sign an adoption agreement etc. Please be advised that we cannot refund the adoption fee if your new pet doesn’t work out. If you are having trouble with your newly adopted pet, please feel free to call us with any questions. We can often recommend a trainer or provide behavioral advice over the phone. We accept returns of adopted animals no matter how long you have owned your adopted pet! Per the adoption contract, if you’ve lost your pet adopted from PAC, you must notify us immediately, we can help! Especially with escaped cats! Approval depends on ownership history, current vaccines and spay/neuter status on resident animals and proof of home ownership or written permission from your landlord. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis however, if the first applicant is the best fit for the animal, adoption will be granted to that person or family. If you are curious about the status of your application, please email PACadoptions@providenceri.gov Adoption Fees Dogs Under 50 Pounds, Male or Female – $240.00 Dogs Over 50 Pounds, Male or Female – $270.00 Puppies: male/female (6 months of age or younger) – $300.00 All dog adoptions include rabies and distemper shots (good for one year), microchip, heart worm test, deworming and spay/neuter. Puppies will receive age appropriate vaccinations and may require more vaccinations after adoption that the new owner must provide. Cats: Adult Male/Female Cats – $125.00 Kittens: 1 kitten – $175.00 2 kittens – $275.00 All cat adoptions include rabies and FVRCP shots (good for one year), microchip, FIV/FeLV test, deworming and spay/neuter. Kittens will receive vaccinations appropriate for their age, they may require more vaccinations after adoption that the new owner must provide. Providence Animal Control accepts checks or money orders only. No refunds.
