Meet Liana
Me: Your relationship with “Lili” will most likely begin with a big hiss from a very small cat.
Lili: Tell them it’s because I’m timid and it won’t happen once I know them.
Me: What else do you want them to know?
Lili: I’m very sensitive – to bright light, loud or sudden noise, new smells, etc.
Me: Yes, you like to hide when you’re overwhelmed but you always come out when you’re ready.
Lili: And I love to play with floor toys and some wand toys. I like to pounce and bat at things. I’m really a fun cat. Oh, another thing I love is having my head petted! It makes me purr. It’s a favorite thing.
Me: I love petting you. I also love your eyes, your willingness to trust after being through so much, and your DERPS (when you stick your tongue out after smelling something icky, like my coffee-breath). You are a wonderful, sweet, little kitty.
Lili: Thanks. I just need a furrever home with a patient person who can give me a bit of time and a cozy safe space for me to chill when there’s stuff that startles me.
Me: Do you think if we had more time that you might become a lap cat?
Lili: I’m not sure. I like napping near you and I like being touched, so it’s possible but I’m not there yet.
Me: I understand. Personally, I think you’re an amazing and delightful cat just as you are!
