PLEASE READ LEON’S BIO ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE A CANDIDATE FOR HIS ADOPTION. This gorgeous hunk of cat is Leon. He was found abandoned, after being out for several months, with no one to claim him. It’s hard to imagine because he is such a fantastic cat. Leon was very needy when he first came to the shelter but he has settled in nicely and is loving all the special attention, getting great food, and having a safe warm place where he is adored. He is a total character and can be quite amusing. Leon loves to be around people and seems unfazed by having dogs around. We are pretty sure he lived with a dog sometime in his life. He seems friendly with our mascot, Hal the cat, but we have not let them hang out together without a barrier because Leon is one bull of a cat and we want to keep peace between them. If Leon were to live with another cat, he would probably be best suited as a companion to a sweet female. Leon is friendly to kids but we will not be placing him in a home with kids because he is a door dasher. Leon would love to live in a home with someone who is at home a good portion of the day. He is very dog-like so if you are interested in a dog without all the work, Leon would be your perfect dog alternative. He will follow you from room to room and hang out with you wherever you are. Leon is like a Labrador Retriever when it comes to food. No food is safe, left unattended, when Leon is around. When you are eating, you may have to put Leon behind a closed door so you can eat in peace. He will jump on your counters, jump into your refrigerator, and lift the lid off of a pot of soup for a molecule of food. If you cannot deal with this behavior, please pass Leon over for a different cat. Leon is also a great conversationalist. Ask him a question and he will talk right back to you. Above all, Leon loves to flop his body on top of you and snuggle for hours. He is a GREAT snuggler. He loves the company of people.
