Lady Edith's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you're working for home or just playing it safe by practicing social distancing, now is a perfect time to bring a new furry family member into the fold. Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact.
Edith is about 10 years old as of December 2024. Edith was adopted as a kitten and returned to our rescue at 9 years old through no fault of her own. Imagine losing all you knew and had after 9 years only to have to return to a shelter environment! This poor girl is still afraid of her caregivers and is difficult to catch. She will not likely become a lap cat with anyone but her original owners, but she deserves a home. She doesn't hide, she just doesn't want to be caught. She's amazing with other cats and would possibly learn from a very friendly one. She's currently living with a foster who has a terminal illness, so she truly needs a home.

Apply at safehousepets.org !All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Our adoption fee structure is as follows:

$75 - Kittens/Young (Up to 1 year)
$50 - Adult (1 Year +)
$25 - Senior (7 Years +)
$0 - FIV +
There is an additional $25 fee for cats considered to be an "Exotic" (Siamese, Persian, etc...)
If you are a senior (65 years or older) you can adopt any of our senior cats (7 years or older) for only $10! Please mention this special when applying.
We also have a kitten special - adopt 2 available kittens (1 year & under) for $125

While we try to keep our animal listings up-to-date online, sometimes the age range may be labelled incorrectly. Please don't hesitate to contact us for the most up-to-date information on a particular cat.
Our cats are shown by appointment - we are a foster based rescue and so we don't have a location with set hours.

If you are interested in adopting or would like to meet our cats, please fill out our adoption application online at
www.safehousepets.org/info/adoption
and a volunteer will contact you promptly.
12/6/25 8:14 PM
