Meet Keanu
Keanu and Koa are officially ready to find their furever home together! ?
This bonded pair of brothers came to Heartland Humane Society of MO after being rescued in rural Missouri, where they were discovered as sickly, orphans on a sidewalk. Unfortunately, an untreated infection (prior to being rescued) wrecked havoc on Keanu's eyes to the point that they both had to be removed. Koa has some scaring on one eye, but besides that has no issues. Keanu quickly adapted to his lack of sight and Koa has been a great "seeing eye" brofur.
These brothers are extremely bonded, so it is required that they be adopted into a furever home TOGETHER! (Note: Separating them will not be entertained in any fashion). Both boys are extremely affectionate and cuddly. As soon as you enter their room, Koa is yelling for you to pick him up and love on him (as well as to give him some wet food. lol). Keanu is a bit more laid back, but wastes no time in jumping up next to where you are and giving eskimo kisses. Koa is pretty outgoing in new situations and around new people, whereas it takes Keanu a minute to get comfortable since he lacks the eyesight to assess a new situation. However, once he gets used to a new person/place, he becomes equally as affectionate and outgoing as Koa. Keanu also always has his tail curled in cute lil curly q positions showing his happiness.
Both boys love other kitties and have done great with the resident cats and other foster kittens. They would probably do best in a more relaxed home or in a home with older children. They are both fully vetted (dewormed/deflea'd, fully vaccinated for FVRCP/FELV/Rabies, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and neutered), so they will require no additional vetting until next summer when they are due for their 1 yr booster shots. Their combined adoption fee is $225. Please Note: Keanu and Koa reside in a foster home in South City STL so any meet and greets will occur there.
