Meet KatKat/Mischa

Meet KitKat (or Mischa, as she is known to her foster parents)! This incredibly sweet, mild-mannered 10-year-old lady is looking for her perfect forever home. KatKat/Mischa initially stole her foster mom's heart when she was listed for adoption through ACCT. She had been given up to the shelter for feeling unwell, and was overwhelmed by the shelter environment. With some TLC and veterinary care, she is now a whole new cat! Favorite activities include: spending all day curled up on the couch with her foster parents, drinking water from the bathroom sink, and jumping on cardboard boxes. She is truly the most gentle cat on the planet, and has not once given her foster family a hard time even when dealing with a new environment, medications, nail trims, or her cat carrier.

Medically, KitKat has been diagnosed with hyperthyroid and stage II chronic kidney disease. These are both manageable chronic conditions that do not prevent her from living her best life! Her hyperthyroid is treated with twice daily methimazole (inexpensive and easily mixed in with her food), and for her chronic kidney disease she is on a special prescription diet. She will need lifelong regular veterinary care and lab monitoring. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and FIV/FeLV negative.

KitKat is looking for a forever home where she can get all the love and attention that she so clearly deserves. She would do well as an only-pet, and likely with other calm, friendly cats as well. She is easily bullied by more dominant/territorial pets (in her foster home, she is always polite to the resident cat but gets chased around anyway). Per her prior family she has also lived with older children.

If you are interested in learning more about KitKat you MUST submit an adoption application. We MUST have a fully completed adoption application on file BEFORE contacting anyone, as we will NOT answer adoption inquiries without having an application on file to refer to. Please copy and paste this link in order to submit an adoption application:

Please understand that we are a Volunteer 501 3 c Non-Profit foster based rescue and it may take a few days for someone to contact you. Additionally, we do property checks and must have a copy of your lease as well as your landlord's info if you rent. We will do a property check if you state you own your property. This is not to be intrusive but to ensure that the pet you want to adopt is allowed to be in your home. One of the main reasons cats/kittens are surrendered to the shelter is due to "landlord reasons." Thank you so much for your cooperation regarding this matter.
