Meet JOEY, a HANDSOME PERSIAN mix boy, who is estimated to be 6-8 years old. His story will leave you speechless. Joey was spotted in a bag hanging from the handlebars of a citi-bike in Manhattan. People in the area reported seeing someone leave the bag earlier in the day. We are so upset about the way he was abandoned, but so very grateful that his finder was able to get him to safety and ultimately to our rescue. Joey is extremely SWEET and GENTLE and very LAID-BACK. He enjoys yummy meals and comfy blankets to relax on. Joey has clearly been neglected in the past as his coat is in need of TLC, he is very thin but slowly gaining weight, and he has old injuries to his back legs. Despite it all, Joey LOVES PEOPLE and will ROLL-OVER for ATTENTION. Interested adopters should be prepared to address any medical needs in the future, including addressing his dental needs once he is in good enough shape. EXPERIENCE with Persian cats is also preferred. Joey is a GREAT kitty and we want a SPECIAL ADOPTER. We are considering an ADULT ONLY home for Joey. He can be your “One and Only” or go to a home with other gentle non-aggressive cats. Joey’s past was very dark, but hopefully his future will be filled with LIGHT and LOVE.
