Meet Jemma!
Our sweet girl Jemma has been in the shelter for a year with no applications, interest or visitors. Jemma is 14 years old, shy, sweet and looking for someone to love her. Jemma was originally brought to us as a surrender due to her owners not wanting her because of her age. Her owners had her since she was a kitten, so when Jemma arrived she was petrified, confused, and felt unloved. It has taken almost her entire time at the shelter to learn to trust us.
Since opening up, she has slowly begun accepting pets, treats, and being out of her hidey hole to watch what is going on throughout the day. She spends almost the entire day out in the pod laying in her bed! First thing in the morning, Jemma will come out and wait for her breakfast and then relax in her bed all day. We truly believe underneath that shell of fear and anxiety, that we have been working at breaking through, there is a bright personality that has not been able to fully shine in the shelter.
Jemma would do best as the only pet in the home. Our hearts are broken knowing Jemma's story and we want nothing but the best for her. She is otherwise healthy, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations.
