Meet Jaws (tripod cat)

This brave boy came to use through some pretty rough circumstances, but as you can see, Jaws is quite resilient! Jaws was dumped at a nearby farmhouse that sadly has several animals a year dumped at their property. He was limping and clearly injured so the family asked for our help. At first it was a suspected animal bite..... hence he earned the name Jaws. But further investigation showed that he has a pretty severe break that wasn't healing so there was no other choice but to remove his leg.

But Jaws has a big appetite for life and he is bravely figuring out his new life indoors and as a tripod kitty.... or is he a prairie cat? or a mere-cat? He definitely looks adorable when he perches up on his hind legs to observe the world and it's his signature move! This friendly boy has a case of grumpy face that perpetually screams "why have you called me into this meeting? This could have been an email", but don't let it fool you! He's actually a very sweet boy who enjoys getting pets and basking in the window.

He's demanding with his food so you better bring it quick and don't be stingy! He'll definitely vocalize how unhappy he is if you're late at meal time! This gentleman seems to have some experience as an outdoor kitty, hence why he loves to be able to sit in an open window and feel the breeze and smell the smells, but he has quite quickly become adjusted to indoor life and all the perks that come with it. If you were able to provide access to a basking window, screened in porch, catio, or some way of still feeling the outside he would absolutely love that, but still be safe.

Jaws has adapted very quickly to life with 3 legs. Although it has only been a short time since his surgery, he's already figured out jumping up and down and getting around and he's pretty much just doing his normal cat thing.

We don't know his exact age but we estimate that he's 3-5 years old, but does not seem to be a senior. This gentleman does not like energetic dogs that get in his face, like puppies, but he seems to do just fine with chill dogs in his foster home that will just leave him be. He would need a slow transition with other cats and dogs but he is currently rooming well with his kitty roommate at his foster home and definitely can comfortably be in a multi-pet home as long as he won't be with animals that will aggressively pester him (kittens and puppies).

Do you have it in your heart to give this tripod boy a chance at a comfortable long life of comfort, love, and sunbathing?

His adoption fee is $250 and it covers him receiving the following before coming to your home…

-neuter
-distemper shot
-rabies shot
-microchipped
-combo tested for FIV/FEL
-flea and ear mite treatment
-dewormed
