Meet Jasper

Jasper is a special guy. We are told that he had a hard life before coming to us, that he was yelled at and physically abused. It's probably for these reasons that he picks fights with most of the cats at the shelter. He's like a kid from a rough household: he acts out to get attention. He's now spending most of his time in the isolation room at the shelter.
HOWEVER, he LOVES humans and craves attention. Outside of his room, he gets testy. Inside his room, he's such a sweetheart. He sometimes gets overexcited and bites but rarely breaks the skin. If this happens, we stop petting him and tell him no and he stops. I think he's just starved for attention and it's hard for us to give it to him when we have to keep him separate from everyone else. He LOVES string toys and excels at hunting and catching the prize at the end. He also likes kicker toys, which is good because they're an excellent substitute for your hand if he starts getting a little rough!
In summation, Jasper has had a rough past and would benefit greatly from a safe home where he can feel secure and receive the love he craves. He would be an EXCELLENT only-pet for a single adult or couple looking for a buddy to play and chill with.
