Jameson Domestic Short Hair Mix Minneapolis, MN

Jameson is a 6-year-old, domestic short-hair cat who is pursuing a life-long relationship.

Jameson, aka Jamie, is a food and treat-motivated cat. Since he is a tad overweight, we ditched traditional feeding bowls and instead only feed using interactive toys. His favorites are his licky mat or his dispensing ball. This allows him to get some mental and physical exercise while doing his favorite activity (eating).

When Jamie isn’t eating, his favorite activities are playing with his interactive wand toy, napping in his cat tree, scratching his scratch posts, getting brushed and being the best personal assistant to foster mom and dad while they work from home. He loves to curl up in his human’s lap and will often drool while being pet.

Jamie currently lives with two adults, a one-year-old, two pitbulls and a crabby female kitty. He is very confident and sweet with the one-year-old and lets her pet him and will even solicit attention from her when they’re together. To make sure Jamie was comfortable, we did slow introductions with our dogs (one at a time). Jamie also lived with a dog in his previous home and was very affectionate with him. We have not introduced Jamie to our resident cat because she is not cat friendly, so they are completely separated.

His ideal home is one where his humans will love his affection while also respecting his space as he acclimates to a new environment. Currently, Jamie has his own bedroom which is not necessary in a forever home – we just do it to keep the cats separate. However, in order to help him acclimate, Jamie does best when he only has access to a small space and as that space becomes "safe" for him, gradually giving him access to more and more of the home. He gets easily overwhelmed in a very large space right away. He is extremely loving once he is comfortable in a space, but it does take him a few days to warm up. His humans will read his cues and not push him outside of his comfort zone. Jamie also requires a litter box with top entry only.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
