Meet Jake from State Farm
Hi, my name is Jake from State Farm! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Timid in shelter environment, loves affection and purrs enthusiastically when comfortable
-Can Live with Cats: No - Jake is FIV+ and cannot live in a home with other cats unless they are also positive for this viral condition.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks - I spent much of my life outside and dogs scare me!
-Can Live with Kids: Yes - kids ages 12+ who can go slow and respect my body language
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, due to being FIV+
-History of Litter Box Issues: None observed
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: None
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a dental
Additional Information: Jake from State Farm came to WHS when he was left behind at a property after a family moved away. He is understandably uncertain about life in an animal shelter, but it's not hard to win his affection with some friendly cheek scratches. Jake has FIV - an immunosuppressing disease that will not prevent him from living a happy life, but which makes him more vulnerable to other illnesses. He will need to be adopted into a home that is committed to keeping him indoor-only for the rest of his life to protect him from exposure to things that might endanger his health and to prevent him from potentially spreading FIV to other cats. Please ask animal care staff for more information.
