Meet JacksonCP

Location: Aspers, PA (Adams County)

Jackson wandered into a family’s yard looking for food. He was so hungry that he started eating out of their trash. The family found that he was very friendly. They took him in, completed all vet care, and Jackson is now ready to find his forever home!

Jackson is quite the sweetheart! He loves attention and will rubs all over your legs and give headbutts. He always seems to want to be near people. He likes head scratches and the occasional back/butt scratch. He LOVES to play with string and jingle balls! He also has a fleece blanket that he loves to sleep on.

Given that Jackson was a stray, we’re unsure of his history. He seems possessive of food at this time, which is likely related to how hungry and thin he was when rescued. He seems worried that food will be taken. When his foster parents are close by, Jackson will eat, come rub all over them lovingly, and then suddenly remember the food and jump away from them back to the food. He doesn’t seem to want to be picked up at this time. He seems to get afraid when his fosters parents move too quickly or move their feet while petting him. They also wonder if someone may have kicked Jackson in the past because he will nip at their shoes here and there.

There are other cats in Jackson’s foster home. They are not together but will watch each other through windows. Jackson doesn’t seem to care or mind them. The family also took in another cat that is in the same room with Jackson but separated by a cage. Jackson will get close and seems to want to be friendly to the other cat but they haven’t had direct contact. However, since Jackson can be food possessive, he will go after another cat if the cat gets too close while Jackson is eating. For that reason, he may do best in a home without other cats.

Jackson is approximately 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and tested negative for feline leukemia/AIDS. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting him, please contact Lindsey at Lindsey.reiker@gmail.com, (240) 654-7384, or (717) 451-5321.
