Izzy comes with a lot of goodies from her previous owner. We were told she was a diabetic kitty and on 7 UNITS daily, but when she came here she was just to afraid for us to be able to give her the shots. We were very worried but once she felt safe we were able to take her to the vet where we found she didn't seem to be at all diabetic! They say that want to keep her on the diet because sometimes kitties will do better when managed and not need meds anymore but still need to have their diets watched.
We've learned that Izzy can take a few days to warm up to new people and places. So please be patient with her. Once she gets to know you she is the SWEETEST kitty. This girl just wants to be loves and will melt right into your arms purring when she feels safe.
As far as we can tell she doesn't need anything other than a diabetic kitty diet to keep her in good shape but she will need to have normal kitty routine vet checks every year just like any other friend would.
